First of all I think I owe you all an apology: It's been a long, long while since I updated this blog and I apologize for not updating sooner. But for whatever it's worth - hello my friends! I hope the last year has been kind to you. My life has been a complete whirlwind this last year with little room between. I've traveled to so many places, and have met so many amazing people...
I just got back from Barcelona and fell madly in love with the city and all of her charms (the photos you see on this page are from my trip). And now, I'm sitting here fairly jet-lagged, on a very sunny, very out of character hot April day – thinking (of course) about music.
I turned 27 last week and as 7 happens to be my lucky number, I've decided that I need to record new music in my 27th year. It's not very scientific, or logical, but it's a good enough reason to me to get back to the love of my life.
I've been truly inspired lately by other ladies of folk and Americana and it's drawing me back to pen and paper. During my travels I make time to write, and to ruminate, so I haven't exactly been avoiding songwriting, but I haven't been truly committed. But now it's time to really compile all of my thoughts and ideas into fully-formed songs and that's what I aim to do.
As much as I love to travel, I love being back in Oregon – home of my heart. I'll be traveling most of the summer but I'm making plans to record as soon as I can, and can't wait to share my music with all of you.
Until then, thank you for following along this journey with me – I appreciate and love each and every one of you more than you'll know.
